To be a trusted leader in Christ-centered higher education for chaplaincy, pastoral care, and pastoral supervision, preparing spiritually mature and professionally equipped Christian leaders to serve with biblical faithfulness, compassion, and excellence in diverse ministry and professional settings. We offer a growing number of non-credit bearing courses and certification programs. These courses are excellent, high quality, Biblically sound. Certification in Chaplaincy, Christian Life Coaching, Prison Ministry, and other areas is offered by Christian Chaplains & Coaching. These courses and programs are designed to support the Chaplains, Pastors, and Friends of Christian Chaplains & Coaching. The purpose of The Chaplains Academy is to honor Christ by educating and forming Christian chaplains, pastors, and ministry leaders who integrate biblical faith, theological reflection, spiritual formation, and professional practice. Through rigorous academic study and supervised ministry experience, we prepare students to provide competent, compassionate, and ethical spiritual and pastoral care and leadership in both Christian and secular settings. The Gospel is central to everything we do. We serve others in missional community. We are committed to learning, self-awareness, and spiritual growth. We collaborate with likeminded believers, churches, and ministries. We partner with educational institutions and seminaries to train students for effective spiritual and pastoral care, especially through quality Clinical Pastoral Education offering Graduate level academic credit. We sing, pray, teach, coach, and preach in His powerful name. Our past, present, and future are centered on His Gospel. Our purpose on this earth is to make much of Jesus Christ. Our mission is and shall always be what Jesus says our mission is and we stand firm on His truth until His return. *"but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,"*  Our teachers will hold students accountable to the pursuit of excellence. Meeting deadlines, quality work, and commitment to learning are core value of our teaching staff.   Our desire is to give students a process they can follow that will enhance their understanding of the material. A process becomes a workable plan that guides our students across the finish line to graduation. Students gain access to the award winning Populi learning management system.  We have a heart for helping our students make genuine progress at becoming a better person and an excellent spiritual care provider. We believe there are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one true, eternal God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory, although distinguished by their personal properties.  We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He is a member of the trinitarian understanding of God. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and member of the trinitarian understanding of God. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe He is equal to God and is in fact God in person. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe He is a member of the trinitarian understanding of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.   We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe in salvation alone through Christ alone. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and will be forgiven rather than judged. The forgiven will enter into the presence of God to spend eternity with Him. The judged will be excluded from Him to spend eternity apart from Him. Baptism is an ordinance of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ. Baptism is not a requirement for salvation. To those who obey with the instruction to believe and be baptized, it becomes a sign of their belief in Christ and their fellowship with Him in His death and resurrection. Baptism is a sign of their being grafted into Christ, for remission of sins, and their obedient submission to God through Jesus Christ to live and walk in newness of life. We believe baptism represents the image of our death, burial, and resurrection into that new life. However, we allow our members to hold to either pedobaptism (infant) or full emersion believers’ baptism (adult). We believe in the universal church that is made up of all those who believe in Christ alone for salvation and redemption and are therefore “Born again.” We believe in the fellowship of the redeemed and the cooperation of local churches and fellow believers to further the Gospel. ***\* The Church is both evangelical and universal. We are the church.*** We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions; and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. ***\* Christian life is lived in community, like family. for the purpose of discipleship. They will know Christ by your love.***  We believe that Christian marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God for the well being of mankind and the propagation of the human race. It is the life long spiritual and physical union of one man and one woman according to Scripture, and this is the only valid understanding of marriage. We believe that the terms “male” and “female” are described in scripture by the historical traditional created and biological definition. ***\* Gender is determined by biological sex. There are two genders, male and female.***  We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that every church and every Christian ministry is independent and must be free from interference by any political authority; that therefore Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other. ***\* We have the right to serve as an ecclesiastical ministry set apart for the church as described above. Each member of our teaching team is highly experienced, credentialed, and dedicated to the craft of Christian Life Coaching in our student relationships. Mike is a Board-Certified Chaplain, Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor Educator-Coach, and Certified Master Christian Life Coach with a passion for forming Christ-centered leaders. He serves as the Program Director and Dean of the Academy at Christian Chaplains & Coaching, where he leads curriculum design, faculty development, and pastoral training rooted in biblical truth and spiritual maturity. He has more than 30 years' experience in spiritual and pastoral care ministry as a Pastor and Chaplain, serving in hospitality ministry, church, prison, marketplace, hospice, and clinical chaplaincy. In his role as a CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach, Mike cultivates growth environments where students are challenged to reflect theologically, listen deeply, and serve from a place of spiritual formation rather than performance. He brings together academic excellence, a pastoral heart, and practical ministry experience to raise up leaders who will provide faithful and effective pastoral care with humility, wisdom, and courage. His purpose: "I exist to lead average lives into Abundant Living" **“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” – Jeremiah 32:27 (KJV)** Angella is a Board-Certified Chaplain, Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor-Educator, and Certified Christian Life Coach with a deep passion for spiritual care, soul formation, and transformational learning. She currently serves as the Communications Program Director at Christian Chaplains & Coaching. She holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Psychotherapy, a Master of Divinity, and a Master’s in Health Administration with a concentration in gerontology. Her diverse ministry experience spans healthcare, correctional, community, academic, and congregational settings—each one enriching her calling to walk with others through seasons of growth, grief, and grace. As a CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach, Angella is known for creating a learning environment that invites authenticity, self-awareness, and theological reflection. Her heart for mentoring student chaplains is grounded in the belief that spiritual care begins with a transformed caregiver. Through her coaching, teaching, and communication roles, Angella is committed to shaping voices of hope, cultivating presence over performance, and encouraging others to live out their call with wisdom, humility, and boldness. She is joyfully married and finds deep joy in companioning others toward wholeness and vocational clarity—all to the glory of God. *“Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.” – 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV)* Jim is the founding member of the Board of Directors for Christian Chaplains & Coaching, launched in the fall of 2019 with the goal of returning Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care to Biblical Christianity. He is happily married to his wife Virginia of 47 years. She has and is a major influence in his life as his best friend and closest Christian mentor. Jim spent more than 25 years as an executive and CEO of a financial services and business consulting firm, selling the firm to transition into full time ministry in 2009. With 30 years of volunteer and vocational Chaplain experience, he has served in Jail/Prison, Probation, Nursing Home, Hospice, Workplace, and Community Chaplaincy. Jim attended Moody Theological Seminary and graduated with a Masters in Biblical Theology. He was ordained to pastoral ministry in 2007 and has been a senior teaching chaplain since 2010. He is a Board Certified Chaplain, credentialed by The National Association of Evangelicals Chaplain Commission, The Association of Certified Christian Chaplains, and The Spiritual Care Association. He is a CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach and Certified Master Christian Life Coach. He serves as our CPE Supervisory Coach Training Supervisor.  “Think yourself empty, Read yourself full, Write yourself clear, Pray yourself keen.” My passion in this season of my life is to develop the best methods for coaching student chaplains in the Art of Chaplaincy by equipping and mentoring novice chaplains with insightful training and the encouragement of unconditional positive regard, just as I was when I was a brand-new chaplain resident in Clinical Pastoral Education.  My goal is to tutor new chaplain candidates by providing a Christ-rooted philosophy in teaching, coaching, and honest and helpful assessments of their skills – particularly in these key areas: I was introduced to spiritual care through the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) process, and this training transformed the way I viewed myself, allowing me the space to examine my deepest fears, wounds, and strengths. Through the efforts of faithful peers and challenges from my CPE Supervisors, along with the mentoring of staff chaplains and other medical staff, I discovered within myself a calling and a passion to walk with others who are wounded during the trials of life. The debt of gratitude I owe to everyone who encouraged, challenged, and cared for my soul can never be repaid, but it can be paid forward. This is my endeavor and goal for people I encounter as a CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach. Mickey is a board-certified chaplain and Supervisor Coach Candidate with a deep commitment to mentoring and equipping others for compassionate, faith-based service. Mickey began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps before transitioning into pastoral ministry, where he served as an associate pastor in West Virginia for six years. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Lee University and a Master of Divinity from Pentecostal Theological Seminary. Over the past two decades, Mickey has provided spiritual care and leadership in a variety of settings, including churches, hospitals, and with the U.S. Navy, where he served in roles ranging from congregational pastor to pastoral care residency supervisor and senior clinician. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education residency and mental health fellowship at the Hampton VA Medical Center with ACPE, earning board certification through the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains. Mickey is passionate about spiritual formation, pastoral presence, and supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. Mary graduated from Manhattan Christian College in 1986 with a Bacehlor of Science in Bible/Christian Education and an Emphasis in Counseling. She earned the Master of Arts in Theology (MAT) from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2019. She married Ross in 1979 and they served together for 23 years until his death in 2003. Mary is Director and Dean of the Seminary of Urban Leadership (S.O.U.L.) which offers classes in the community, county jail and state women’s prison in Topeka, Kansas. In January of 2023, she completed basic chaplaincy training and, soon after, the S.O.U.L. Center for Urban Chaplaincy was launched. Mary completed Clinical Pastoral Education in spring of 2024 and received ACCC certification in 2025. She served bi-vocationally for many years and has had extraordinary opportunities to receive on-the-job training in nearly every arena navigated by those impacted by poverty and/or incarceration. She has worked with homelessness, domestic violence, mental illness, incarceration, neighborhood ministry, and Through chaplaincy training, Mary realized the potential impact of spiritual care in high poverty neighborhoods and the spaces through which neighbors' journey. She began practicing chaplaincy in her own neighborhood, chasing the question: *“Considering the documented positive impact of spiritual care on social determinants observed in healthcare spaces, what might happen if every urban neighborhood had a chaplain of their own?”* Shoulder to shoulder, Mary and her neighbors, church, students and friends are providing intentional, compassionate engagement, envisioning healthy communities and seeing, firsthand, a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by various adversities, including poverty, incarceration, homelessness, mental illness and addiction. Jason and his wife, Karin, have two adult children. Jacob lives in Michigan, and Megan lives in Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Ferris State University and his Master's in Divinity from Western Theological Seminary (both in Michigan) in 2008 and his ordination is with the Reformed Church in America.  He began volunteer chaplaincy while still in seminary, with an internship. This is where he discovered his deep love for chaplaincy. He served as pastor at Maplewood Reformed Church, Holland, Mi. He then served Wright Christian Reformed Church and Kanawha Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha, Iowa.  Jason first took his CPE with us in 2021, while in Iowa, and volunteering at two local hospitals as chaplain.  Recently, Jason and Karin moved to lower Eastern Michigan, and he took a position as Chaplain at Ohio Living Swan Creek Life Plan community.  Ann-Marie is a Board Certified Associate Chaplain and enjoys learning and reading. She is married to her husband for over 38 years, and they have two adult children. She lives in New England and enjoys all 4 seasons that God provides. She received Chaplain ordination and completed Chaplain certification process with Christian Chaplains & Coaching. As Teaching Assistant, Ann-Marie assists the students and teachers in the Chaplains Academy and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). She enjoys being a certified Biblical Counselor and a mentor to women in her community. Ann-Marie has been with Christian Chaplains & Coaching since 2020. Virginia is happily married to Jim and enjoys living in Southern Georgia.  They attend Flint Reformed Baptist Church and enjoy working together to serve our chaplains.  She is experienced with bookkeeping and administrative services, so supporting chaplain candidates toward their goal of chaplaincy is a special joy. This includes a commitment to being students of the word of God as well as learning how to apply it in every situation. We are dedicated to learning how to live the word of God to reach the lost and grow the saved for a changed life. This implies commitment to continuing and higher education. We are passionate about encouraging mature believers to learn how to be on mission for Christ in community with others. A well mobilized lay ministry is a powerful way to reach the lost, serve the hurting, make disciples, and help your pastor accomplish the mission for which he was called to serve his flock. Chaplaincy provides a wonderful door opening credential for mature believers who wish to be an active contributing disciple of Jesus.  The ability and desire to influence people toward pursuing and accomplishing their God given purpose for their lives. An emphasis on helping many to become leaders of others on that mission. We are committed to leadership that inspires growth and trains people to lead others. We value those who lead by example, having unquestionable integrity and transparency, who love patiently without lording their position over others in an authoritative way, serving as servant leaders that have high expectations for everyone to live as true and loving disciples of Christ.  We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ by spreading His love and good news. In other words, we desire to live our lives together in such a way as to show others what it looks like when the family of God shows up in their midst. We desire to become fluent in our understanding of the Gospel and learn how to communicate it effectively when given the opportunity to do so. We are the hands and feet of Christ. We love with the love of Christ in every circumstance while standing ready to share the hope that is within us whenever we are asked.  We are committed to working well together as a family and team to accomplish ministry, cooperating with each other and our leaders by being the body of Christ to our community. We desire to do life together on mission, out there where the lost and hurting and dying need us most. We resolve to identify and reach a particular people group or network of relationships with the Gospel and to make disciples whose lives are changed by our service to them.  We are motivated to be a source of love and encouragement to all those who are hurting, feeling down, or suffering in any way. A key to successful Chaplaincy is practicing the ministry of presence. We will work together to show others they are not alone. We will be tireless in our desire to share our time with those in need. We believe the most important ability for a chaplain is his or her availability to be present with someone in need. We are committed to spending regular time with God in our personal devotions, reading His word, making our petitions known and praying for the people that God places under our care. We are committed to a regular time, place, and plan to be with God every day by practicing the presence of God. We believe this practice will give us peace, fill us with hope, and provide a sense of joy and contentment that will become visible to others as we practice our craft. We believe it is impossible to make disciples apart from the art of mentoring and coaching. Genuine progress implies accountability to each other, making progress ourselves, and helping others make progress as well. For this reason, the word "Coaching" is part of our ministry name! Committed to apprenticeships where people learn to live for Christ through mentoring. Discipleship is not telling people how to live; it is showing them how to live while we all make progress together. This can only happen in the context of community, on mission together in the day to day stuff of life. Accountability to change is part of mentoring.  We believe it is impossible to make disciples apart from the art of mentoring and coaching. We believe in networking and collaborating with like minded individuals, churches, ministries, and educational institutions in the Kingdom work that we share. It is our goal to increase the effectiveness of our ministry by helping others as they also help us. We bring certain strengths, and others bring their strengths. Together, two can accomplish more than twice as much as one. Therefore, we encourage our Chaplains and Coaches to develop collaborations as we also work hard to develop them as well. Where this type of ministry was distinctly Christian for many years, something dramatic has changed over the past 50 years. A relatively new culture of "spiritual care" has emerged. A type of care that removes Christ from the equation while calling it "Christian." This trend is seen especially in high level ministry education such as Clinical Pastoral Education, where the true born-again believer is increasingly told they are not welcome. While CPE originally emerged from a Biblical framework, over time, many programs shifted toward a more clinical and secular emphasis. And now, in many clinical settings and CPE programs, the Biblical Christian is disrespected for his or her views. It started with an increasing feeling of Jim Kirkland that something needed to be done, that a new Chaplain and Pastoral ministry needed to return our work to Christ. During a long and prayerful period of discussion on Jim's back porch with Colonel Greg Frich USMC Retired and discussions with a CPE Supervisor Educator, Ray Huff, a deep conviction was shared. A decision was made to re-center chaplaincy and pastoral work and training around Christ, Scripture, and the hope of the Gospel. We ordained our first Chaplain in October 2019. Colonel Frich became one of our first Chaplains. With this vision, Triple "C" was founded in 2019 to provide chaplains, pastors, and life coaches with not only professional certifications, but ongoing support, coaching, and spiritual formation rooted in Biblical truth. Jim’s passion was not simply to train chaplains for the field, but to make disciples who make disciples, equipping them to serve with excellence, Gospel fluency, and missional presence in secular spaces. We are a 501c3 "Association of Churches" that exists to teach, train, ordain, endorse, and deploy qualified believers for volunteer ministry, chaplaincy, and to empower pastors to plant churches. The ministry was founded with a bold mission: *to restore the Church and return pastors, chaplains, and life coaches to Biblical Evangelical Christianity.* Since its inception, Triple "C" has grown significantly—having ordained more than 500 people to chaplain and pastoral ministry, adding multiple training cohorts each year, and developing a thriving Academy that offers Clinical Pastoral Education, certified life coaching, continuing education, and mentorship through a Biblical evangelical lens. We even offer a one-of-a-kind Doctorate in Ministry - Pastoral Supervision. Our motto has always been, *“Make a friend, be a friend, draw your friend to Christ.”* This reflects not only our heart for relational ministry but also our theological foundation. We partner with universities, seminaries, churches, jails, prisons, hospitals, and a growing number of Christian ministries across the nation, cultivating servant leaders who embody the Acts 2 Church—devoted to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. Christian Chaplains & Coaching is a recognized endorser for the Veterans Administration, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the Department of Defense through our collaboration with the National Association of Evangelicals Chaplain Commission. We collaborate with the Association of Biblical Higher Education to offer Spiritual training and Clinical Pastoral Education to Christian Universities and Seminaries accredited by them. Today, Christian Chaplains & Coaching stands as both a training ground and a spiritual family, discipling and deploying leaders into hospitals, prisons, congregations, workplaces, the military, disaster areas, with first responders, to abuse victims, and communities with a message of hope and healing through Christ alone. To be a trusted leader in Christ-centered higher education for chaplaincy, pastoral care, and pastoral supervision, preparing spiritually mature and professionally equipped Christian leaders to serve with biblical faithfulness, compassion, and excellence in diverse ministry and professional settings. We offer a growing number of non-credit bearing courses and certification programs. These courses are excellent, high quality, Biblically sound. Certification in Chaplaincy, Christian Life Coaching, Prison Ministry, and other areas is offered by Christian Chaplains & Coaching. These courses and programs are designed to support the Chaplains, Pastors, and Friends of Christian Chaplains & Coaching. The purpose of The Chaplains Academy is to honor Christ by educating and forming Christian chaplains, pastors, and ministry leaders who integrate biblical faith, theological reflection, spiritual formation, and professional practice. Through rigorous academic study and supervised ministry experience, we prepare students to provide competent, compassionate, and ethical spiritual and pastoral care and leadership in both Christian and secular settings. We offer CPE from an unapologetically Biblical Christian Worldview. While teaching exclusively to the learning outcomes expected in the 29 Common Qualifications established by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI), our learning outcomes also teach the 5 evangelical distinctives required by the National Association of Evangelicals Chaplain Commission - a Christian Board Certifying Agency. We offer a DMin program that includes 4 courses in Master Christian Life Coach (MCLC) and CPE Supervisory Education (SUP). Each course is designed to prepare candidates for certification as a Master Christian Life Coach, Clinical Pastoral Supervisor, and Supervision of ministry departments. For candidates who need professional Clinical Pastoral Education courses as a requirement for work, certification, or for personal development but do not need graduate level academic credit, these courses are available. Successful completion of each course will produce a certificate of completion for your personal or employment needs, but without graduate credit. A positive recommendation is required for enrollment in all subsequent CPE courses. This will depend entirely on your progress, especially in self-awareness. - In each CPE Unit, 50% of the grade will come from coursework and 50% from the final evaluation prepared by your CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach. This course will follow an 8-week format. You may complete it in less than 8 weeks, but not more than 8 weeks. You will become familiar with various Chaplain definitions and how they differ from a Christian definition that is Biblically sound. Concepts will include ministry of presence, listening to understand, asking seriously curious questions, the dangers of proselytizing, and how to listen at least twice as much as you speak. You will learn the difference between a Pastor, Evangelist, Apologist, and Chaplain. You will be introduced to the concept of relationship evangelism that we like to call, "Make a friend, be a friend, and draw your friend to Christ." Each unit includes the fully online CPE standardized curriculum using the award winning Populi Learning Management System. Generally, to become Board Certified, four units of CPE are required. However, completing this program does not guarantee certification. Learning outcomes are designed specifically for 34 competencies which include the 29 Common Qualifications required by BCCI/APC and the 5 Christian distinctives of the National Association of Evangelicals. Each student receives significant Christian Life Coaching included the mentoring relationships provided by our wonderful CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach staff. **Tuition Cost** (Per Unit - See Refund Policy Here) $1,300 **Technology and Library Fee** (Per Unit - Not Refundable) $375 **Application Fee** (Non-Refundable New Applicants Only) $25 **Background Check Fee** (Non-Refundable Standard Fee - New Applicants Only) $35 *Background check fee may be higher in certain areas of the world.* *Plus initial application and background check as required* Didactic Education includes online self-paced assignments combined with live class meetings and individual supervision. This component will require 150 hours of time over 16 weeks. Though some weeks will be heavier reading than others, you should budget 8 to 10 hours each week for course work. Some weeks will be more; others will be less. You must earn actual practical experience, clinical hours in a Chaplain setting that allows you to serve as a Chaplain who provides spiritual, pastoral care, and emotional support to individual in that setting. There are many places to serve. This is not limited to hospitals. It can include hospice, nursing homes, first responders, jail or prison, disaster response, addiction recovery, and more. Even your Church can serve as a clinical site. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Registrar’s Office.  All coursework including live classroom instruction and group discussion is 100% online. We will monitor your required clinical hours in a variety of settings as proctored by a local supervisor while coaching you toward improvement as a spiritual care provider.   We encourage our students to gain clinical experience in a variety of settings while we monitor their weekly hours. You may choose to serve in any number of environments or combination of them. This can be as a volunteer or paid employee if you have a position. For example, you may obtain your clinical hours by serving any combination of work performed in Hospital, Jail/Prison, Elder Care, Hospice, Crisis and Disaster Work, First Responders (Police, Fire), Military, Counseling and Compassion Care at your Church, Workplace Chaplaincy, and others. Talk to us and we will help you develop a plan for working the hours. Much of the requirement can be met by doing what you may already be doing in ministry now!  Our impressive collaborations are intended to improve the learning experience and educational outcomes. Our teachers are highly experienced Chaplains and Pastors who also have significant real world business experience. Your CPE journey through four units or courses includes personal one on one life coaching by one of our Certified Master Christian Life Coaches. Because our core value of teaching is "Life Coaching," you can expect to receive significant mentoring in self-awareness, spiritual disciplines, and making forward progress at becoming the person you dream to become - the person God created you to be. Chaplaincy is not door to door contact evangelism. But we do pray for God to open doors to the Gospel.  - Applicants must be coachable, willing to learn from their supervisors and fellow students. - Applicants must be coachable and interested in learning, transformation, spiritual disciplines, and making steady progress. If you are just looking for a certification and not life change, this CPE program is not for you.  - Applicants must be willing to work with people of different views and values without proselytizing. However, we learn to respond with the Gospel when the client invites us to do so.  - Applicants will not force the Gospel in secular settings uninvited. However, they have the right to hold to their sincerely held beliefs without having others, including employers, force their beliefs or worldview upon them.  - Applicants must have their own transportation to get to and from their various sites where they may earn clinical hours. - Applicants must be able to identify appropriate places where they may serve as an intern. Though we will assist with this, we do not guarantee placement. - Applicants must always adhere to the policies and procedures of any site or place of ministry in which they serve.  - While we are actively pursuing recognition and acceptance from various board certification agencies, there is no guarantee at this time that this CPE program, or any CPE program will be accepted by every Certification Agency. We believe our program is among the very best available, and because we teach from an Evangelical Biblical Perspective it may be the best learning experience you could have. - Completing a course or courses or any of the Certificate Programs we offer does not guarantee employment or certification as a Board-Certified Chaplain. Additional requirements are up to the certifying organization and an employer's HR requirements. - We are committed to teaching to common qualifications and competencies established by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI)  - We collaborate with the National Association of Evangelicals Chaplain Commission Board Certification (EBCC). We teach to the five additional competencies required of an Evangelical Biblical Christian to be Board Certified by them. Our campus teaches through an unapologetically Biblical Evangelical Protestant Christian worldview. Our goal is to be the CPE training option best suited to Biblical, Evangelical Christians.  - The five additional competencies for Evangelical Chaplains includes: 1) EPC1 Express how your evangelical values guide you in providing pastoral care, 2) EPC2 Provide specific biblical references that guide your clinical chaplain care, 3) EPC3 Discuss how you offer biblical guidance for those seeking answers and understanding, 4) EPC4 Describe your involvement in leading biblically based public worship, and 5) EPC5 Express how you incorporate the practice of Sabbath into your schedule. - Being accepted as a student does not guarantee you will pass CPE. Failure may require you to repeat a course to proceed forward on the journey. A student's ability to proceed to the next level of CPE, e.g., 2, 3, or 4, is dependent on the recommendation of their CPE Supervisor - Instructor. A positive recommendation is required for enrollment in all subsequent CPE courses. This will depend entirely on your progress, especially in self-awareness. - In each CPE Unit, 50% of the grade will come from coursework and 50% from the final evaluation prepared by your CPE Supervisor Educator-Coach. The final evaluation is by far the most important factor in your moving forward in the next unit of CPE. - We expect our students to engage in the hard work of self-study, self-awareness, and life transformation. Failure to embrace the process of the Action-Reflection method of learning can result in failing the course. This is about the personal transformation required to be an excellent spiritual care provider. - We highly recommend board certifying agencies including **ECC** (Evangelical Chaplain Commission). Other organizations such as ACCC, SCA, and CPEI may be considered as well. - Successful students will receive certificates of completion for CPE. This does not guarantee that any Board Certifying agency will approve you for Board Certification. Receiving certification depends on your ability to demonstrate competency in the process followed by the agency you choose. - Students are accountable to the learning outcomes and expectations established by the program as taught by The Chaplains Academy, the educational arm of Christian Chaplains & Coaching, which include the BCCI competencies plus the Evangelical Christian competencies. - Learning goals, anticipated outcomes, and competencies for CPE 1, 2, 3, and 4 provide scaffolding for student academic growth. Each subsequent course builds on the previous learning experience. This is not something that we provide automatically to our Chaplains and Pastors because it would significantly increase the annual dues. Therefore, you should consider purchasing this highly recommended coverage. Though we do not require it, we highly recommend it. We have searched long and hard to find affordable E&O Insurance for our Chaplains. After many months we have found a suitable option. We are not affiliated with HPSO and do not receive any compensation from them. This is made available as an option to our Chaplains. We think it is a good one. To be a trusted leader in Christ-centered higher education for chaplaincy, pastoral care, and pastoral supervision, preparing spiritually mature and professionally equipped Christian leaders to serve with biblical faithfulness, compassion, and excellence in diverse ministry and professional settings. We offer a growing number of non-credit bearing courses and certification programs. These courses are excellent, high quality, Biblically sound. Certification in Chaplaincy, Christian Life Coaching, Prison Ministry, and other areas is offered by Christian Chaplains & Coaching. These courses and programs are designed to support the Chaplains, Pastors, and Friends of Christian Chaplains & Coaching. The purpose of The Chaplains Academy is to honor Christ by educating and forming Christian chaplains, pastors, and ministry leaders who integrate biblical faith, theological reflection, spiritual formation, and professional practice. Through rigorous academic study and supervised ministry experience, we prepare students to provide competent, compassionate, and ethical spiritual and pastoral care and leadership in both Christian and secular settings. The Chaplains Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and continuous institutional improvement. We regularly review student enrollment, retention, program completion, graduation, and other measures of student achievement to evaluate the effectiveness of our academic programs and support informed institutional planning. This page provides current and historical student achievement information for the Academy's credit-bearing academic programs. Data is reviewed and updated annually as part of our institutional assessment process. The following data represents the unduplicated number of students enrolled in one or more credit-bearing courses during each academic year. Each student is counted only once during the academic year, regardless of the number of courses in which the student was enrolled. Beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year, qualified CPE students completing CPE without the award of graduate academic credit will be tracked separately and will not be included in credit-bearing enrollment figures. The Chaplains Academy is a developing institution, and sufficient longitudinal data for comprehensive retention and program completion reporting is not yet available. The Academy is actively collecting and evaluating this information and will publish additional student achievement data as meaningful reporting periods are completed. The Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Supervision currently has three graduates and four actively enrolled students. To date, no DMin student has withdrawn from the program. Clinical Pastoral Education students are actively progressing through the four-course CPE sequence. The Academy anticipates additional students completing the full CPE program following the Fall 2026 term.
