In this course you will learn the art of spiritual care in both secular and church settings. This course will follow an 8-week format. You may complete it in less than 8 weeks, but not more than 8 weeks.
You will become familiar with various Chaplain definitions and how they differ from a Christian definition that is Biblically sound. Concepts will include ministry of presence, listening to understand, asking seriously curious questions, the dangers of proselytizing, and how to listen at least twice as much as you speak.
You will learn the difference between a Pastor, Evangelist, Apologist, and Chaplain. You will be introduced to the concept of relationship evangelism that we like to call, "Make a friend, be a friend, and draw your friend to Christ." But we never push our faith on others unwanted.
1 Peter 3:15 "Honor in your hearts Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect.
In a Chaplain encounter you will learn to practice the concept of WAIT (Why Am I Talking?). You will engage in self-awareness and deep thoughtful prayer to consider if God is calling you to become an Ordained Chaplain. You will learn from our proprietary DISC for Christians, Spiritual Gifts, Core Values, and Leadership Styles.
You will take a 1-to-3-day spiritual retreat designed to help you listen for the voice of God through Scripture and to hear His heart for the direction of your life.
This course may be taken by anyone. It is a pre-requisite for all who may want to consider becoming an Ordained Chaplain of Christian Chaplains & Coaching.
