Errors and Omissions Insurance

Some institutions require that a Chaplain, volunteer or employed, must carry appropriate Errors & Omissions Liability Insurance. This is not something that we provide automatically to our Chaplains and Pastors because it would significantly increase the annual dues. Therefore, you should consider purchasing this highly recommended coverage. Though we do not require it, we highly recommend it.

We have searched long and hard to find affordable E&O Insurance for our Chaplains. After many months we have found a suitable option. We are not affiliated with HPSO and do not receive any compensation from them. This is made available as an option to our Chaplains. We think it is a good one. The price is very competitive and can be purchased for a variety of professions. 

Follow These Steps

  1. STEP ONE: Go the HPSO website by clicking here. It will open in a new window. Refer back to these step-by-step instructions to continue.
  2. STEP TWO: Choose the "Individual Practitioner Getting Started"
  3. STEP THREE: At the screen “Let’s start your quote” choose student if you are in school, like a seminary or for nursing. You get a discount if that is the case. Otherwise, choose professional (even if you are a lay Chaplain).
  4. STEP FOUR: Choose your state of residence. For profession, choose "Pastoral Counseling" and it should pop up as a choice to select. If you belong to ACA, select "Yes." Choose if you are employed or self-employed. Most of our members choose self-employed. Choose either full or part time. If you graduated from a school within the last 12 months, select "Yes." At each step, hit that "Continue" button.
  5. STEP FIVE: Choose your desired coverage limits and liability.
  6. STEP SIX: Your quote will appear, and you may hit continue to complete the application.
